Except of some relief operations at the occasion of Typhoon Glenda, NACSEARelief did not have projects in the region. That shall now change. At least this is the vision of
NACSEARelief President Urs Hebeisen who went with Project Manager Marlene Dattario to Naga to start a fact finding mission and negotiations with the HAENSEL and GRETEL foundation whose advocacy is quality education for the poor especially also among ethnic tribes; Its founder, Mme Carmen Dapilos, a german citizen who was born and grew up in Naga, a recipient of the order of the cross from the Federal Republic of Germany. She was the first Filipino to receive such an award from then President Johannes Rau.
Cooperation is also targeted with the “U can do it” foundation and organization identifying the children from the poorest of the poor to integrate them in the existing Department of Education school system by making scholarships available but also addressing the basic needs of families with school children. They are sponsored by the TMR Welfare foundation of Switzerland.
NACSEARelief and its partners are planning to bring volunteer workers of the “weltwaerts” program of the German Government to support and further enhance these valuable projects.
