The Corn Seed Assistance Program was launched to support smallholder corn farmers in increasing their productivity and improving food security in the locality. During Phase I, a total of 761 farmer beneficiaries were supported with corn seeds.
Now NAK-karitativ from Germany encouraged us to continue the program with focus on organic fertilizer, which needed coaching as this is a fundamental change in the basic concepts and practices of our farmers in far remote rural areas. Our Project Manager Mabelle Bagtas reports from the field: “Procurement was not without challenges. First delivery, then education, distribution but the gratitude of farmers and their family spoke for a successful outcome. Now we have to monitor the growth and harvest”
Thank you to the donors of NAK-karitativ and all the effort of organic focal person of the municipal agriculture office providing training
