7th April 2025. We reached out to our farmer beneficiaries of the NAK-karitativ Corn Seed Project (Rehabilitation of destroyed fields)

With some difficulties due to bad road conditions we arrived  n Deseket a Sitio in the Municipality of Tiboli in South Cotabato) 41 farmers gathered for a  “Townhall Meeting” representing 222 family members. From total of 60,5 ha the result is 1301 sacs of corn  which is already something but we think can be improved in future projects of this nature. Some farmers lacked fertilizer and could not yet plant what we provided.

Since the area to be monitored is still large  2 retired NAC-ministers were commissioned  to monitor this project further, especially also to evaluate sustainability meaning the capacity of these farmers to finance next planting cycle with the yield of the former one.

Our new field officers are: Mercurio Nuyad, being himself an experienced and successful farmer and  Alfredo Pascual, former Forest Ranger of the DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resources).

We thank NAK-karitative for this venture to rehabilitate fields in remote areas  devastated by environmental conditions such as  drought. May the Tiboli population enter soon again into a natural cycle of planting, harvesting and planting again
