On 14th October 2014, a ceremony was hosted by the DepEd to thank its partners among private companies and non-government organizations who helped and supported the “Adopt a School” program..
NACSEA Relief was honored as a partner agency in advocating education. Rebuilding schools is part of the NACSEA Relief action plan in disaster stricken areas. To have a concrete and long-term effect, schools are rebuild and repaired not only for the present students but for the next generations to come.
During the event, Secretary Armin Luistro also made another call t challenge the audience. The aim is to reach all children with proper, quality education. He asked everyone to look for all out of school children by reporting the child’s name and location.
Program Abot Alam for the all out of school youths including children with disabilities, street children, children who live in the mountains where no school is possible and other situations that leads to not able to learn condition. The program also reaches out to all Indigenous People and adults who want to learn basic skills such as reading, writing and calculations.
