Saturday, October 12, 2024, NACSEA Relief Inc. President together with Manager of operations Ms Mabelle Bagtas visited Dugwakan Primary School (DPS) to attend the highly anticipated Blessing, Inauguration, and Turnover Ceremonies of the newly constructed 2-Classroom and 1 Faculty Room Building Project. This significant milestone symbolizes not only the completion of a vital infrastructure but also the hope for a brighter future for the school’s learners.

The event saw the presence of esteemed local government officials, including Municipal Mayor Hon. Peter Paul T. Gonzales, along with local barangay leaders headed by Punong Barangay, Hon. Lorena F. Paclibar. Their attendance reflected the strong partnership between the school and the community in ensuring quality education for the children of Dugwakan.

Also present were key officials from the Department of Education (DepEd), such as Sir Andie Padernilla (Officer-in-Charge, Education Program Supervisor), Engr. Joneflor V. Bales (Senior Education Program Specialist), and Dr. Catherine L. Betita (Public Schools District Supervisor, District of Banate), along with several school heads. Their participation in the event highlights the collaborative effort between the education sector and external partners to improve learning environments for students.

The ceremonies began with a symbolic ribbon-cutting, led by NACSEARelief Urs Hebeisen, Municipal Mayor Gonzales, and other dignitaries. This was followed by the blessing and dedication of the new building, an emotional moment for all, marking the culmination of months of hard work and shared aspirations. The building, constructed in just six months, represents a dream fulfilled for the school and the community.

During the program, the accomplished project was officially turned over by presenting the symbolic key to Mayor Gonzales and Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) President, Nicole Jhoy A. Buenacosa. This gesture underscored the importance of nurturing young minds and providing them with the proper facilities to grow and succeed.

In his heartfelt message, Mr. Hebeisen expressed on behalf of HUMANITAS Switzerland a deep commitment to the cause of education, emphasizing its vital role in shaping the future of not just individuals, but entire communities. He reminded everyone present—learners, parents, and teachers alike—of the transformative power of education and how it paves the way for a better life.

The event concluded with a moving speech from Municipal Vice Mayor and the Committee-in-Charge of Education, Hon. Dr. Filemon M. Iran Jr., who highlighted the significance of the project for the municipality. He also reinforced the local government’s continued support for the advancement of education, especially in remote areas like Dugwakan.

This day marked not only the completion of a building but also the beginning of a brighter, more hopeful chapter for Dugwakan Primary School and its community. With this new facility, the learners of Dugwakan are now equipped with the space and resources they need to thrive and achieve their dreams.

Together, we have built not just walls but a brighter future for the children of Dugwakan Primary School.

From the bottom of our hearts, MARAMING SALAMAT! (From a message by Dugwakan Primary Scholars on Social media)
