The turnover ceremony was held for a newly constructed 1-building facility composed of 2 classrooms and 1 faculty room in the far-flung area of Sitio Datal Uga, Sarangani Province. This significant project was funded by NAK humanitas , Switzerland and implemented by its local partner in the Philippines, NACSEA RELIEF INC. with the goal of strengthening access to quality education in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.
The event was attended by the Officials from the Department of Education (DepEd), Representatives from the Local Government Units (LGUs) of Sarangani, Representatives of the NAK Humanitas and NACSEA RELIEF, Inc., Local school administrators and teachers, Parents, community members and 41 students, who are the direct beneficiaries of the project.
The ceremony featured a formal ribbon-cutting, blessing, and symbolic key turnover of the facility.
Messages of appreciation and commitment were shared by DepEd officials, LGU representatives, and donor organizations, all highlighting the value of partnerships in delivering educational services to underserved communities.
Community leaders and school representatives expressed deep gratitude to the donors and implementing partners for their support in uplifting the local education system.
The building was officially handed over to the Department of Education to be managed and maintained for the benefit of the school and its learners.
This school building will serve as a safe and conducive learning space for 41 students and their teachers in Datal Uga. It is expected to improve student attendance, engagement, and academic performance, as well as provide a better working environment for teachers.
The project also reflects the shared commitment of international donors and local partners to support inclusive, equitable, and quality education in hard-to-reach communities.
The turnover ceremony marked a milestone in the continuing efforts to promote educational equity. The collaborative support from the Swiss organization and its Philippine partner is a meaningful investment in the future of the children of Datal Uga. Their contribution is a clear demonstration that, through partnerships, barriers to education can be overcome.
