The work has started for the Canadian Charity sponsored Classroom building in Kiabog Davao Occidental, Philippines, for the Mobile Alternative Learning System by the Department of Education, to benefit the local children of the area by providing a place to learn.
Our frontliner, Mabelle Bagtas is in the area to meet the community, Representatives of DepEd, our builders and the Barrio Captain to plan the work to commence end of January.
The great challenge to face is the haulage and delivery of materials up to the school site yet the community is willing to help and will use their horses to bring the materials up the mountain difficult trek of Kiabog site.
The team had to brave adverse weather conditions to reach this far remote site by trekking.
