The Department of Education formally accepted on Thursday, September 21, 2023, the new 1- classroom building donated by NACSEARelief Inc. funded by NAK-Humanitas, Switzerland to Jerusalem Elementary School, in Sitio Mantukdo, Cauayan, Negros Occidental.

 

In a simple turn over ceremony held at Jerusalem Elementary School grounds, the symbolic key was accepted by Ms Lynee A. Penaflor, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent of the Department of Education, Ms. Jinky Chua, School Head, the teachers, PTA president and a student representative on behalf of the  150 pupils who will benefit the project.

 

In her acceptance speech, Ms. Jinky Chua, expressed her gratefulness to the kind-hearted people particularly the NACSEARelief executives and to Nak-Humanitas for the unwavering support on school projects that benefit those who are on the margins. She was very thankful for having a conducive classroom environment for teachers to teach effectively and students can learn with ease and perform better academically.

 

DepEd official, Ms. Lynee A. Penaflor, also conveyed her great appreciation, expressing that a new learning environment will have a wide variety of benefits, including increased student engagement and motivation, stronger relationships with peers and teachers, enhanced collaboration, and an increased sense among students that they have ownership over their own learning. She summarized with the MA-TA-TAG agenda of the DepEd, endeavoring relevant curriculum for job ready, active and responsible future citizens, accelerated delivery of basic education facilities and services, promoting care and inclusivity, in support of children and teachers.
